Making moves

I’m in the process of moving to San Francisco. Of course the business comes with me. I’m looking into a new workshop in the city. I will be continuing with the bike builds once I get settled in. I found an 1940 copy of Life with the beautiful Rita Hayworth on the cover with a nice little article about her staying fit by riding a bicycle. Ladies take note… ride a bike, but don’t forget to look cute.

I had a nice Dave Moulton frame come into the shop today with an equally nice owner named Greg. He was interested in a Velo Stand so he scooped one of the salvaged wood versions and also purchased a musette. Good taste I must say. Thanks Greg for stopping by.

I found this big bag of wine corks at the swapmeet last weekend. I don’t drink wine much and it would have taken a while to build this collection. They will come in handy finishing off the old handlebars etc.
De Rosa

De Rosa is in the building! We recently got in Ron’s lovely 1984 De Rosa that we will be working on. Ron was custom fitted for the bicycle by the De Rosa family in Italy and had the choice of what parts he wanted on his custom bicycle, naturally he went with Campagnolo Super Record components, and a Cinelli cockpit. There is plenty of great De Rosa pantographs on the bike that I will be hand painting, along with a good cleaning, tuning and polishing. Stay tuned for more pics of this and the final outcome. This is a real coincidence but we also got our hands on a collection of De Rosa jerseys. The whole set! jacket, short sleeve and long sleeve! If only I could squeeze into a size small!
